hola, im amari and im the creator of this site! i started learning html/css as part of a college course, and quickly learned there is a whole community of people being creative with code!
I recently earned my degree in computer science (⎚ᴗ⎚) and while i enjoyed learning about algorithms and data structures, i much prefer playing with the visual elements of code :)
not only did i study computer science but i also studied biology! I am a big lover of the natural world. bugs, plants, and animals are all things that interest me ⁽ˊᵕˋ⁾
i am from the amazing state of california, and grew up with beautiful green hills like you see on this page •͜• i now live in a big city! and enjoy exploring the different parks and communities of my vibrant neighborhood :) some of my favorite things to do in my area are going to the library, visiting nearby museums, and participating in beach cleanups (-◡-)
This is my doggie Dakota. She is a very small chihuahua, but since we got her from the pound she is likely a mix with some other breed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when we adopted her, the vet estimated she was about a year old, they had found her by the side of the road all alone! But that was in 2010! Now it is 2026 and Dakota is celebrating her 16th birthday this february! Dakoti is the best doggie in the world! She loves to cuddle and eat greenies. As she has gotten older, her little legs are not as strong ˙◠˙ she can no longer jump on couches or climb up stairs. But we have been very accommodating! We made little stools to help her up, and carry her wherever. She used to love long walks, now she can only handle going up and down our block. Regardless, she is still a very happy little doggie and gets her energy up whenever we play! I love Daxi very much, she is one of my oldest friends! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
As previously mentioned, i grew up in beautiful california. The culture and environment here has greatly shaped who i am today. However, i also love to travel! I’ve had some amazing opportunities to visit different parts of the states and i enjoy exploring new places. I went to college in new jersey, and took many trips to new york city! Exploring the east coast was a goal of mine when picking schools, and it was a very interesting experience! It was my first time living in the snow, driving on a turnpike, and visiting the jersey shore! New york city is very different than the city i currently live in; for one, the apartments there are very small XD. but also it is much bigger and it feels like everyone is in a rush! In california we are known for our laid back vibe, which i appreciate (⌐■֊■).
I’ve also had the chance to visit the south! One summer i spent time in Tennessee which was really amazing! I lived right along the tennessee river, and got to experience the culture and community of the south for the first time! One of the things i really loved about this area was all the greenery. It was so humid, i felt like plants were sprouting out of everywhere! The people there were also extremely nice, and i met alot of folks who really love tennessee! It was a great time!
I also have been very fortunate to travel with my family for vacations. I’ve been to hawaii twice, i love learning about the islands ecosystem of plants and insects. Their island biodiversity is very rich! The fish are very cute as well!
Typically, its traditional for girls in my culture to have a quinceanera when they turn 15. This is a big party to celebrate our coming of age, which includes lots of food, dancing, and relatives. However, i decided i would rather use the money to travel, so one summer me and my family to a big trip to europe! It was my first time leaving the continent, and the flight took a long time! But we first landed in London, then visited Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, and Rome. the whole trip was about 3 weeks and I had the best time! Maybe in the future i will make a travel diary, because i hope to do more of it in the future!
